After a beam reach, brisk winded three day passage from Fiji, WIDAGO arrived upon the shores of Tanna, a remote island in the Vanuatu group, a thousand miles east of Australia. In Port Resolution (named after Captain Cook tucked into this anchorage on his fine ship, H.M.S. Resolution, in 1774), we were greeted by local fisherman working nets by hand in their hand-carved canoes made from the trunks of bread fruit trees. We arrived at daybreak to the glow and smoke plumes of Mt. Yasur, the island’s resident volcano.
Once again, the pictures and video give a better idea of our adventure to “The World’s Most Accessible Volcano”. What the video couldn’t really convey, was the heat, sulphuric clouds, raining ash, and shockwaves from this amazing fore of nature. Definitely an experience of a lifetime. Enjoy!
Wow!!! This is awesome. Ali, I love the music from this one. Who is the artist? All of your music choices have really been great. Thanks so much for sharing your families adventure with all of us. Much love Dottie
Thanks Dottie! The song is by Adele, “Set Fire to the Rain”. I think it’s from her album “21”.
WOW – REALLY HOT STUFF!
Fantastic Video.
