Approximately 10:45 Zulu time, all hands were summoned to the aft deck, as Marco the MahiMahi made his first strike. Swabbie Gordon quickly took control of the situation, sending Ahab to helm to slow the boat down while he reeled with all his might. After a brief battle, Marco found himself on the wrong end of a gaff, and enjoying a healthy slug of Dominican rum to help ease him towards the light at the end of the tunnel.
Ahab donned his fish filleting attire, and carved Marco into a delicious pile. What shall it be for lunch today? Fish tacos? Mahi sliders? Dorado curry stew? Perhaps there will be enough for all good options.
Keep your eyes on the fish ladies……
Nice catch!
Love the Captain’s shorts!!
Great catch, David but it is going to take more than a few rogue waves to wash the photo of Ahab in his Speedo out of my mind! Hope he doesn’t wear that thing in port!!
A lot of fish and meals! Gil
Was the suit Ahab is wearing his birthday present to you?
Very thoughtful to name your food before eating it!
I’ve been lurking, following your journey since you left the BVI. I absolutely admire what you guys are doing. It is a real inspiration to the rest of us who think a week long charter island hopping in the BVI is ‘sailing,’ Ali’s writing is wonderful … such great accounts of fascinating humdrum events. I encourage you to wrap it all into a book, or at least a series of magazine articles; it’s a great story from a great storyteller!
Thanks Bob!!!!
FABULOUS … oh, my most favorite fish in the whole wide world. How about some sashimi? Enjoy, so much fun !!!
Nice catch! Yum
no sure I want a closeup of Ahab’s swimsuit
