I’m not sure if there is such a thing as an accelerated executive MBA for cruising catamaran owners, but there should be. The WIDAGO crew had the privilege/luxury/opportunity to have one the world’s most experienced Leopard 48 boat captains come live aboard for immersion therapy and training. Richard Widman has an unbelievable balance structured German engineering and laid back Keys Disease. He has sailed more of these cats than anyone, in all weather/conditions, all over the world. We had the benefit of being docked in his old stomping grounds so he knew not only where to buy all the needed equipment/ supplies/charts/etc. but also all the really great secret eating spots. He was patient and kind with the kids, even watching them for an evening while we went to a Christmas party. My only problem with Richard is that he doesn’t like vegetables, specifically celery. We hope to run into Richard again soon, as he will possibly be joining another cat for our May 2015 Atlantic crossing with World Cruising Club. Thank you Richard!!!
